Local file compression and extraction

An online file compressor and extractor for everyday archive work

This browser-based tool lets you pack files or folders into ZIP or 7Z, and inspect or extract ZIP and 7Z archives without sending your files to a remote server. It is built for delivery bundles, project archives, shared assets, and everyday document exports.

01

Pack, inspect, and extract in one workspace

Move from loose files to a clean ZIP or 7Z archive, or from an uploaded archive to a safe export flow, without leaving the same screen.

02

Browser-local processing with no server upload

Compression, extraction, and archive reading stay on the current device, which makes the tool more comfortable for contracts, codebases, internal docs, and other sensitive files.

03

Read the file list before export

After you upload a ZIP or 7Z, the browser reads the file list first so you can choose what to export or download.

FAQ

FAQ

These are the questions most people ask before using an online file compressor and extractor.

Are my files uploaded to a server?+

No. The page is delivered by the site, but archive creation and extraction stay in the current browser, so file contents are not sent to a remote processing server.

Which archive formats are supported right now?+

You can create ZIP or 7Z archives from files or folders, and inspect or extract ZIP and 7Z archives locally. RAR creation is still out of scope for now.

Why does the app read the archive before export?+

This lets you see the file list first and decide what to export. If some entries cannot be exported directly, the page will show that in the list.

Can I extract directly into a folder?+

Yes, in browsers that support the File System Access API. Otherwise you can still download exportable files individually.

How should I choose between ZIP and 7Z?+

Choose ZIP when compatibility, speed, and large-file handling matter most. Choose 7Z when compression ratio matters more and the archive size is still reasonable for in-browser processing.

Why do some files barely shrink after compression?+

Many formats such as JPG, MP4, PDF, DOCX, and existing ZIP files are already heavily compressed. In a fully lossless archive flow they often stay close to the original size, and archive container overhead can even add a small increase.
